Nominate a UW-Parkside Distinguished Alum


In May, UW-Parkside will honor exceptional alumni with the 2020 Distinguished Alumni Awards.

As an alum, you know the lasting impact your fellow Rangers make through their career achievements and service to the community. Now we need your assistance to recognize their accomplishments. Please consider taking time to nominate a colleague, friend, or family member who embodies the qualities of a distinguished UW-Parkside alum. 

Nominations are open through December 13th for 2020 consideration.

CALLING ALL KIDS: RANGER CUB CLUB

Parkside Athletics invites kids ages 8th grade and under to join the new Ranger Cub Club, an exclusive experience with Parkside Athletics and its student-athletes.

Cub Club members will receive an official Ranger Cub Club t-shirt and other goodies from Parkside Athletics and Cub Club sponsors, free kids' admission with a paid adult at regular-season sporting events, and special opportunities at games. (Fan tunnel, anyone?) Sign your cub up!

ALUMNI PACKERS GAME 12/8

Alumni and other experts will share their insights on healthcare and environmental challenges through engaging panel discussions. Continue the conversation through networking and reconnecting with alumni and community leaders while supporting the CNHS Advisory Board Scholarship fund.

Brooke Jones-Story '06 Commemorative Match

November 1 | 7:00 pm | DeSimone Gymnasium, UW-Parkside

As a part of Parkside Volleyball's Alumni Weekend, the team wants to recognize a special alumni and former volleyball student athlete. Brooke Jones-Story graduated with a Criminal Justice degree in 2006 and served as an Illinois State Trooper. Last March, she was killed in the line of duty. We invite Brooke's family, friends, and fellow alumni to attend the game in her memory.

2019 Careers in the Healthcare Industry Day

October 23 | 10:00 am-2:00 pm | University of Wisconsin-Parkside

Participate in break-out sessions and panel discussions to learn about clinical and non-clinical careers in the healthcare industry from local and regional organizations. You'll also get practical advice from leaders and employers on getting hired in a variety of healthcare-related jobs with tips on what they look for in a resume, internship or work experience, job interview, and skill-set. Pre-registration on Handshake is strongly encouraged.

Fall 2019 UW-Parkside & Carthage College Internship & Career Fair

October 24 | 10:00 am-2:00 pm | University of Wisconsin-Parkside

More than 60 regional and national employers will be on campus to engage with students and recent graduates to discuss internships and full-time degree-required career opportunities. Pre-registered students and alumni will qualify for a free professional LinkedIn headshot when you attend the event in professional attire.

October 16: The Role of Social Media in Shaping our Perceptions of Safety

October 23: Brain Computer Interfaces: Taking Thoughts Out of the Human Body to Interact Within Smart Cities

October 30: Blockchain is at the Downtown of Smart Cities

UW-Parkside faculty members lead weekly presentations and discussions related to the "Smart Cities" concept of wired and integrated cities. Community participation is welcome; bring your lunch if desired.
